Why do we act the way we do, why do we choose some things over the others, why do we make certain decisions? The final purpose of all our actions and decisions is one and the same – happiness. That’s why you save money to go on a vacation, or buy a convertible, or a pair of shoes. Yes, maybe it takes months of savings and a lot of sacrifices, but the moment you will be sailing on that yacht, away from work and stress, or see yourself behind the wheel of your brand new car, it will all worth it. And happiness comes with little things also, you don’t need tones of money. Good news, finding a good book, getting together with friends, going dancing, a beautiful sunny morning, cotton candy (ok, I’m getting personal here
) … There are n things that can make one happy.
Some, make you happy for a day or less, others for a month, or a year and if you are really lucky you might just find what could make you happy for life. The most complex, long lasting and complete happiness comes with love. So if you find someone who can brighten your day, if you feel you want to make him/her happy because seeing a smile on their face will make you happy, well, needless to say that he/she’s a keeper.
For some, family comes first, for others, career or money, power or fame. But regardless of the source, it all comes down to this… H A P P I N E S S.
So my 2 questions for you would be:
1. On a scale from 1 to 10, how happy are you right now?
2. What makes you happy the most?
Later edit: Here’s something I stumbled upon today – “The purpose of our lives is to be happy” (Dalai Lama)
heh, great minds think alike : )

1. I’m happy enough, which to me means a ten.
2. I make myself happy, by letting myself be happy.
10. and it usually stays that way because my happiness comes from within. the things you mentioned that make me happy for a day, month, year, to me aren’t really happiness. they fill a void for a certain amount of time until they stop working. i don’t rely on anyone or anything for my happiness, no situation in life, or outcome, can affect it. i’m just happy, no matter the circumstances. nothing in life is good or bad, until i decide to give it that label. so it all comes down to “it is what it is”
